Cosplay Wigs and Cosplay Fabric

Be sure to have the right color and style of wig for your character.

Although some cosplayers choose to actually dye their hair, it is not usually recommended. You can find cheap, inexpensive wigs at Halloween or Cosplay Shop. However, if you want something to last for a long time, then choosing wigs from beauty shops might be the better investment, even if they do cost a little more. Transport your styled wig on a Styrofoam wig head and place it in a wig or hat box filled with Styrofoam ‘peanuts’ for extra protection. Read and follow instructions on the Cosplay Long Wigs packet for proper maintenance for they can be reusable.

Choose appropriate fabric to fit with the role of the character you are playing.

If your costume calls for a skin tight design, make sure you use stretchable fabric that gives you the ability to move easily without being too uncomfortable. For instance, school girl cosplay costumes would require light cotton material. Do not use satin or heavy wool; textures that do not match.
